October recap

Wednesday, 30 October 2013

I think that for the first time in the history of Magnifique, I can say that the passed month has been quite beauty related. As a complete make-up beginner I found these kind of articles very interesting, since I love learning about makeup and hopefully in the upcoming months (and with many new beauty posts) my skills will improve a little bit. Moving on to fashion, October was probably one of my favorite months so far, since with such amazing weather and really high temperatures, it really gave us a chance to play and experiment with fashion. Which look was your favorite? :)
Have a great day everyone!

Zara vest/ Bershka sweater/ Michael Kors bag via XYZ Premium fashion store

This year's fall has been beyond amazing. The fact that we can walk around, wearing only a sweater at the end of October, feels almost surreal to me, so I've been trying to spend as much time as possible outside, preferably with my little fury friend Aisha, that of course had to be in the pictures, making the final touch to my black and white look! ;)
Have an amazing day everyone!

Skinzee

Monday, 28 October 2013

Diesel Skinzee jeans (similar HERE)/ Zara top and shoes (similar HERE and HERE)

Okay, so skinny jeans have been around for quite some time now and just when I thought it couldn't get any better "Skinzee" happened. Even though I like to experiment with different types of jeans from now and then, the skinny ones still are my ultimate, go to type. But there's one thing I hate about them and I'm pretty sure many of you can relate to this...the fact that they only look good for a certain period of time before they stretch and lose their original fit and shape. And I think we all know how incredibly difficult is to find a perfect pair of jeans, but it looks like these kind of problems are now officially over!
Diesel, with their new revolutionary super stretch fabric that guarantees total recovery rewind, delivered jeans that perfectly adapt to any body size and are simply a must in every skinnyjeanslover's closet! ;)
Have a lovely Monday everyone!

Burgundy vibe

Zara plaid shirt/ Bershka shearling jacket (similar HERE)/ Michael Kors bag via XYZ Premium fashion store (similar HERE)

Even though I love dressing up from time to time, this kind of look is by far my most favourite. When it comes to everyday fashion, being comfortable is one of my main priorities, since I'm pretty much running from one place to another during the day. But even though I prefer keeping it simple, I love mixing some basic but yet interesting pieces, that can make even the most casual outfit stand out! So for today's look, instead of throwing on my basic leather jacket, I decided to go for this shearling one, that I believe makes the whole look much more interesting and adds some cute details. Paired with this amazing MK bag and some washed out black jeans and voila!...What do you think? :)
Have an amazing weekend everyone!

pink fluffy sweater

Marc Cain sweater via Sportina XYZ/ Michael Kors bag via XYZ Premium fashion store (similar HERE)/ Asos watch/ Zara loafers

Really girly and oh-so-comfy outfit, thank's to this incredibly soft and (it's) so fluffy pink sweater by Marc Cain. I decided to style it really simple, keeping the rest of my outfit in black and gold, since I believe the sweater itself makes a big statement and I didn't want to still it's spotlight! ;)
Have a great day everyone!

Changes

Michael Kors sneakers via XYZ Premium fashion store (similar HERE)/ Sheinside shirt/ DIY earcuff

Hello everyone, I'm finally BACK!
It seems like forever since I wrote my last post, but we've been making some changes to the blog, so the last couple of days have been pretty hectic and very stressful. But we finally managed to sort everything out, so as you can see, from now the official name of the blog is MAGNIFIQUEBLOG.COM!
My previous domain was simply too long, so I've been meaning to change it for quite some time now. The old one should be working again in a few days as well (redirecting you to my new one) so you don't have to worry about having problems finding my blog! ;)
And for today's look, I've decided to keep it super comfortable and chic, with these super cool Michael Kors sneakers, just the way I like it!
Have a lovely day everyone!

Nina Susnjara: Iluzia

Thursday, 17 October 2013

photos via Elle.si

On Tuesday night, I attended the second day of Ljubljana's fashion week, to check out the latest collection by Slovenian designer Nina Susnjara. If you follow me on Instagram, then you are well aware how incredibly excited I was to see her new collection Iluzia, since not only she is by far my favorite designer, her collections always leave me with my mouth wide open and I feel like she's only getting better and better. I love how her center of attention is a strong and independent woman, that likes to play with different shapes and materials and makes a true fashion statement with her outfit. And that actually woman inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and experiment with my look for the show, since (for the first time ever) I decided to go for a really plain eye makeup in contrast to dark burgundy lips and strong eyebrows.
What do you guys think? :)

(Sorry for the bad quality of the photos, but I was in incredible rush when getting ready for the show that it was either taking proper outfit pics or being late to the show, so these Instagram ones should do).

Have an amazing day everyone!

Plaid skirt

Wednesday, 16 October 2013

Guess by Marciano jacket (similar here)/ vintage skirt (similar here)/ H&M cap/ Zara boots

I must say, from now and then, my closet really surprises me and even though I'm in that I'vegotnothingtowear kinda stage for the majority of time, there are times when I find some really cool and completely forgotten pieces of clothing, laying somewhere in the back. So this time it was this absolutely perfect plaid skirt, that I had for ages and I actually can't remember when was the last time I wore it! ..And to think I almost bought pretty much similar one a few days ago, makes my discovery even sweeter!
Have a lovely day everyone!

Baggy leather pants

Tuesday, 15 October 2013

Zara sweater and pumps/ Celine sunglasses (similar HERE)/ Silvian Heach pants via XYZ Premium fashion store (similar HERE)

Baggy leather pants have been on my wishlist for the longest time, since I think they can look even more chic and classy than the tight ones, especially when paired with tight top and a pair of high heels. I like to believe I confirmed my theory with today's look, I love this clean and all black look (that has always been my favourite), but let me know what do you guys think!
Have an amazing day everyone!

Martina makes magnifique: daytime smokey look

Monday, 14 October 2013

Hey guys! I'm super excited about today's post, since it's my very first makeup post! As most of you know, I'm very bad when it comes to makeup (and by very bad we are talking knowledge about mascara and eyeliner only), but I was always very fascinated by it, I love how people use their faces as canvases and how a good makeup can make such a great difference! So therefor, I decided to get some professional help and with an amazing makeup artist Martina, from Martina makes makeup, we created a first, very simple and fresh makeup look, from the new series Martina makes magnifique! I was fascinated how quick and simple the whole process was, so here's how to achieve this look:

After the foundation, apply a primer to keep your eye shadows in place. For base we used this really bright and natural "bony" color, that you put all over the eyelid and than draw sort of a triangle line with darker brown color, to define the outer line of where you want the eye shadow to be placed. After that it's time for blending and as Martina says you can never over blend, so keep blending and blending until there aren't any harsh edges. The next step is so called "drop shadow", which basically means applying the same dark brown color at the bottom of your eyes, right underneath your bottom eyelashes, to make the whole look a little bit more dramatic. But to soften up the look, blend the line using the same bright color that was used as a base. Then put a little bit of that same color right underneath the eyebrows and add you favourite mascara (add an extra layer to the ends of the lashes for more drama) to really open up your eyes and voila! Eyes are ready, so now it's time for the rest of the face!

Bronzer should be placed right underneath your check bone and quite similar as with the eyes, you create a line and than blend it towards the ears. Then use our famous base, bright color again, this time as a highlight, and put it on your check bones, down your nose, to your cupid's bow (to make your lips look bigger) and a little bit on you forehead and your chin. Finish the look with a neutral lip gloss and you are done!!
As you can see the look is super simple, we only used three colors, so I think even I, as a complete beginner, could recreate this look.

PRODUCTS USED IN THIS LOOK:
- Jane Iredale Smooth Affair eye primer
- base colour Jane Iredale Bone eye shadow
- Jane Iredale day time eye shadow kit (Dark suede brown color)
- Jane Iredale Longest lash thickening and lengthening mascara
- Jane Iredale Sunbeam bronzer
- Jane Iredale Cosmo lip gloss

With my girl, who's "guilty" for the look, Martina and a special thank's to Viki's place.

I hope you like today's post and stay tuned for more Martina makes magnifique looks!
 Have an amazing day everyone!

Love,
Tesa
